Entering therapy means making the decision to change your life. It means asserting your belief that things can get better. Don’t get me wrong, there are no magical solutions, and facing your problems will take effort. But, I believe strongly that your challenges don't need to define you. I'm here to assist you in finding ways forward, easing your burdens, and establishing meaningful goals for whatever lies ahead.
If you’re experiencing any of the following, I may be able to help:
• Anxiety or panic
• Depression
• Serious physical illness or caregiver stress
• Grief and loss (including pet loss)
• Self-exploration, personal re-definition, or career questions

I'm Dr. David Feldman, and I would be honored to work with you to achieve your goals and find greater satisfaction in life.
I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 20 years. A licensed psychologist (PSY28150) and professor at Santa Clara University, I have a small video-based private practice. I went to college at a small university in the Midwest, through which I had the opportunity to spend time studying in Spain, one of the most rewarding periods of my life. Several years later, I received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Kansas and completed a fellowship at the VA Palo Alto, a medical center associated with Stanford University. For the past 18 years as a professor, I've had the privilege of training hundreds of future therapists. In addition, I've given lectures for organizations in healthcare, education, and technology, including Google, Facebook/Meta, and Kaiser Permanente, among others. I've also authored or co-authored five books, including Supersurvivors: The Surprising Link Between Suffering & Success (2014), The End-of-Life Handbook: A Compassionate Guide to Connecting with and Caring for a Dying Loved One (2008), and Psychology in 10 Minutes: 30 Quick Reads that May Change Your Life (2023). In my leisure time, I enjoy cooking, visiting cozy coffee shops, and spending time with good friends.
